Indelible is the state of what is permanent, what cannot disappear, “is what occurs inside the individual” as Nise da Silveira told us, of the memory in which naturally personal narratives come out.
This exhibition proposes an alignment of poetic and productive processes that have the technical image and its unfolding as the axis that leads us to a subliminal universe, whose proposals are related between metaphysics, perceptions of the image, permanent memories, the veiled unconscious and explicit violence. These artists interpret facts as narratives and are not seen through the naked eye, and faces the viewer as an accomplice.
Starting from the analogy of the playful designs of string games – lines that create angles and meshes, but belong to the same thread – each work is a reference for a cross game of contact points between all the others. Like a flowchart, ideas come to the head and their fittings form a body of real meaning. Watching one, you are connected to all of them.
Indelible are layers of self-portraits, of the reverse as proof of oneself, of the silence that has not toughened, of the body that is a weapon of defence and allows itself, of the perplexity taken as a charm. The artists give back what is theirs, in a timeless relationship that unites them, in works in which politics and ideology are latent, and to observe it to practice the touch of the eye.
