Claudia Jaguaribe, Rio-born artist based in São Paulo. Graduated in photography, fine arts and art history from Boston University, USA. Known for her work spanning between traditional photography and elements of current media such as film, video and computer graphics. The presence of reality with subjectivity transforms their photographic records into conceptual photo sculptures, a new look at what could be an everyday image. His works are in several Brazilian and international museums and collections such as Museum of Modern Art – Sao Paulo, Inhotim – Institute of Contemporary Art – Brumadinho, Itaú Cultural, Moreira Salles Institute – Rio de Janeiro, Victoria and Albert Museum, Maison Européene de la Photographie – Paris, Latin American Italian Institute – Rome among others.
Her work “Calypso” was exhibited in November 2018, at Marina da Glória, in an outdoor exhibition, “Marina Monumental: Her Art at Marina da Glória”. This piece is a homage to the Guanabara Bay, the cubes are predominantly blue, composed of images and landscapes which are in reach of our sight as well as hidden in the depths of the waters. The photographs are augmented in size, making a composition which intertwines the distinct views of the same touristic attraction of Rio de Janeiro.
